Our final day in class was devoted to two things: the final exam and the group presentations on our chosen units. The final exam was very simple in that it required us to review ten technology resources covered in class (six chosen by Mrs. Burnes and four of our own choosing) and then to reflect on our previous reflections. For the ten technology resources (which I'm calling the Tech Top Ten) we had to address seven specific things for each:

EDU 295 Reflections: Day 4
We started the day with partner discussions about what we've learned or ideas we've come up with through the course of the class thus far. Most said stuff along the lines that they didn't know there were so many ways to use technology in education with some people saying it's left them feeling overwhelmed. I suggested for those folks to take my own approach to integrating new tech: focus on adding in one new "thing" (whether that's a new site, a new program, etc.) for a period of time (perhaps for a week, month, term, or year depending on it's complexity).

EDU 295 Reflections: Day 3

EDU 295 Reflections: Day 2
Day 2 of class saw us starting with our group presentations on yesterday's chosen topics. The first group presented on the presentation tool/site Prezi, which allows users to create dynamic, engaging presentations that draw viewers attention in a way that more basic programs (such as MS PowerPoint or Google Presentation) cannot.

EDU 295 Reflections: Day 1
Today I started a course on mobile technology for faculty at John Tyler Community College, which requires daily reflections on what was covered each day. This has given me the opportunity to start a new teaching blog, one aimed for other teachers as opposed to my students and their families. This is something I've always wanted to do but just never got around to before today, but I'm getting a little ahead of myself.
